@benpines you guys should fix the delete. No items can be deleted. I tried in production and test. Even the undo doesn’t work. The items remain there, grey out and most times, remove all the elements and break the entire site. Nothing seems to be working properly. Cleared both browser and server cache, NOTHING!
I have no plugins installed, just elementor and elementor pro. I am using the Hello Theme. This issue is just one of the many issues so far.
Done everything in the docs, STILL SAME. I created a new domain, fresh WordPress install, STILL NOTHING. version Rolled back to previous version and everything is completely broken. Even my backup when restored acts weird.
I cant use this for my clients.
@fabienz 😂 Thanks again for your kind reply. I am still searching… as I said. Some of the sites I created using Divi 4.0 are still running smoothly, and no major update has broken anything. The support is very responsive and helps resolve issues quickly, and give tips for optimization and other things. So far so good. But I am also checking out Britz at the moment. Gutenberg with Kadence is VERY PROMISING.
I also code in Reactjs. But there are some jobs we use WordPress for depending on the scale of the project.
As for Elementor Github, it is true that similar claims get shut down. But it’s different when an already shut-down claim is RE-OPENED for same issues. Some issues reported since 2017 are still ignored. No response from the team and they just fade off. They want to do their own things, their own way, which is good. I wish them the best.
I just cancelled my life-long subscription. If the Elementor 3.x.x turns out good, then I will take a “little” peek – with caution into it. 😂
Best regards.
Couldn’t agree more. Am also shocked!
@thelyrist a good developer sure know workaround things. But for how long would that “good developer” be working around things that are “of basic” necessity in web development? especially if you have to hand in dynamic projects for major clients on short intervals. For a company that tags itself as the world best, it’s unacceptable.
If this “good developer” sends in a request on Github to discuss these “workaround issues”, and even offer a probable solution, and the request is SHUT DOWN alongside – others complaining of the same thing, without any improvement whatsoever other than re-tweaking previous accessories and calling it a “Major update” then something is definitely wrong.
Besides, many “hard and soft core developers” are still complaining about this even after my post. SOMETHING IS DEFINATELY WRONG!!!
I can understand that you are being “hopeful” which is ok. But right now, it’s not something I would like to use for any major production.
@fabienz thanks for your response. I have been with Elementor from the beginning. For some of us who use things like queries, and stuff apart from core design which by the way, also have issues, and lacks modern fundamental features, this update is a pain.
I have tried severally to describe the issues multiple times on Elementor GitHub page as a Pro customer. I even pleaded with the team to give me a response. Instead, THEY CLOSE CASES without any response. When another customer reopens the case for same reason, they close it again. Which is baffling. So many people complain about the same thing on their page.
I think i have the right to criticize what I am paying for with my hard-earned money.
The support is terrible especially when they don’t know what to do about your case.
Well, you can stick with them if it works well for you currently. But be careful. => A harmless advice.
@fabienz maybe you just use Elemetor for little things and probably using it for the first time. You are probably not a hardcore developer. If you were, it would not take you 1 sec to see all the damage this update has caused. Elementor is full of crap.
If you had websites that you manage, you will see how this update messes everything up. Deleting stuff in the builder, completely wipes your site clean. Undo does not work. What else can I say… this is crap! So many people here and on GitHub are complaining of the same thing. Support is so quick to shut people down but happily collect our money.
Mind you, Elementor team has acknowledged that there are numerous issues with this update. Not sure how you think something that they themselves acknowledge is bad, is good for you. As usual, they will make promises, and do absolutely nothing.
