Ah – I just spotted an additional and slightly more alarming message:
php: ZipArchive::close(): Renaming temporary file failed: No such file or directory, /home/[username]/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backupwordpress/classes/backup/class-backup-engine-file-zip-archive.php, 46
What happened there?
(BTW, obviously, I removed the username directory in the above)
Hey there –
Is your backup continuing to complete? From my understanding, this error comes up because the temporary file we create while the plugin runs the backup is deleted (as part of the backup process) before the final bit of the process. As long as you’re getting successful backups I think you can ignore this. But I’ll run it past the developers as well to ensure there isn’t anything else we should be doing, okay?

As this post is older and there have been further updates to the plugin. Can I please have any additional related updates or users having similar issues start a new thread so I can help you more quickly?
Thanks so much! I’m closing this post as resolved, because this is affecting a small number of users at this point and there hasn’t been further updates in a while.
If you’re still having issues please link back to this post (if you were one of the posters on this thread) so I can follow up on the history of your issue.
Thanks again,
Kat
Same here…
WP 4.7.4, BackUpWordPress 3.6.3.1
php: ZipArchive::close(): Renaming temporary file failed: No such file or directory, /www/htdocs/[path_removed]/assets/plugins/backupwordpress/classes/backup/class-backup-engine-file-zip-archive.php, 46

Thanks so much, and I really appreciate you opening the new ticket. Linking to it here to the newer post just in case.

Same problem here, running WP 4.8.1 and BackUpWordPress 3.6.4 – and no successful backups being generated!
Raised new ticket here.
