Yearbook: vote on comments

I need some help. I want to create a section of a website in that each student of a school gets a ‘post’, which really would just have their name. The community them get to post comments about them and the most voted for comment gets added into out yearbook.

How would I go about doing such a thing?

My first idea was to put each students’ names in individual posts, and enable comments.

However, putting each student in a category on the blogroll, sounded better. That way it doesn’t conflict with the main posts of the site and it can be put in a sidebar.

How would I be able to enable comments on entities in the blogroll? Further, how would I be able allow those comments to be voted on?
