I am in the same boat.. all to no help..
I’m finding I get a different response (that is error message) from the iPhone app when I include http:// in the blog url than if I don’t.
If I do include http:// I get the “We could not find the XML-RPC service…” message, but when I skip http I get an NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 64. My interpretation of this is that the iPhone app does indeed find my xmlrpc.php file in the latter case. I hope you have resolved your issue, but if not this might be worth a try.
I myself can not get this to work at all. (See my post at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/226432) And all I seem to find here in the forum are pleas for help…
If you (or anyone else) have indeed solved this, I would be very interested in hearing how you did it.
Same here, but I read in another post that it’s due to two plugins I use: “registered users only” and “members only”. The strange thing around this issue is that my blog client (Ecto) can bypass the authentication and publishes my posts flawlessly, whereas the WordPress app itself (downloaded today) cannot do it. I haven’t found any fix for that, anybody knows any howto??
+1
Still can’t enable XML-RPC; even with all plugins deactivated. And I’m not even dealing with subdomains!
Testing xmlrpc.php?rsd just gives a 404 and all Googles point to the same complaints; no solutions.
🙁
I have the same problem. 🙁
I share in your frustrations. I’ve enabled the xml rpc in the Writing Settings for my blog, but my iPhone (3g 3.0 OS/ WP app updated) won’t let me “add blog” without an error message – claims it cannot find my blog. I’ve checked the URL. I’ve tested the network connection, but the problems persist.
