Hi, SLB fully supports WordPress’ official community-powered translation functionality. A language pack is automatically downloaded when one is available for a user’s locale, without the need for an additional plugin.
Thanks.
Hi there @archetyped
WPML is not an alternative to WordPress localization.
Also, user settings (like your plugin labels fields) are not translated via the WordPress localization functions.
WPML is one of the most used plugins to create multilingual websites.
So, on a multilingual website if I set the “Close button” label to “Close” it will show “Close” on all the website versions (English, Portuguese, whatever…)
What I’m suggesting is that WPML compatibility is added so that the website owner can set the “Close button” label to “Close” and then go to the WPML String Translation tool and add the correct translations for each language the website is set on to.
More info on that: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/achieving-wpml-compatibility-for-your-themes-and-plugins/#6
I can make the necessary changes in your code and send you if you want.
Hi, thank you for the clarification on what you meant by translating SLB’s labels. You can keep track of the status and leave feedback on this topic at the existing ticket regarding multilingual support in SLB.
Thanks.
