Check out the developer’s site. He says his plugins will work with 2.5 as long as its not a fresh install.

When I upgraded to Wp-Polls 2.3beta two, none of my polls would render in posts.
So I downgraded to 2.21 and no they show up on the public side of things again.
All in WordPress 2.5. 😉
Hi BloggerDesign,
I changed the format of embedding to [poll id=”1″] to make use of the new 2.5 shortcode api. read the changelog for more info
“He says his plugins will work with 2.5 as long as its not a fresh install.”
So this plug in is useless if you are on WP 2.5 or above if you did not already have it installed prior to upgrading to WP 2.5?
Gawd.
Anyone know of any Poll plugins that ARE compatible with WP 2.5 and above?
Thanks
Dave333: obviously you did not read the link that I pasted in the above post, let me paste it for you again http://lesterchan.net/wordpress/2008/03/30/my-plugins-compatibility-with-wordpress-25/
Thanks Gamerz, I read the page you linked to the first time.
I also read the Readme that came with it. Not only are the notes extremely brief, they are not applicable to WP2.5, giving instructions to areas that no longer exist in the WP dashboard.
I tired to install it several times. It still doesn’t work.
So are you saying Brian868 was wrong when he said:
“Check out the developer’s site. He says his plugins will work with 2.5 as long as its not a fresh install.”
???
Mine is a fresh install.
I activated both plugins but it throws errors when ever I try to add a poll as has been described by many others.
If you are unable to offer any help to get it working then I’ll just have to move on to the next one I guess.
Not applicable to WP2.5? Did you read the readme.html included in the zip you downloaded and not online?
I think you did not download the files that are embedded into the post
Download WP-Polls 2.30 Beta 2 -> http://lesterchan.net/wordpress/download/5/
You were right GamerZ, I was reading the ReadMe from 2.21.
Still, there remains the problem of it not working on a fresh install of WP2.5 as you state here. You offer a temporary fix but I am not sure how to make these edits or how temporary they are (eg: will they still work in a week, a month, 2 months, etc?) The following paragraph states that you have updated WP-Polls to work with WP2.5 (the ones ending in “beta 2”) but does this mean it will work on a fresh install of WP 2.5?
Thanks.
Wp-Polls 2.30 Beta 2 will work on a fresh install of WP 2.5. I tested many times on different computers.
Only WP-Polls 2.21 (current version) will not work on a fresh install
