I am currently trying to search for something specific, but am unable to find anything to help me refine my search.

is there any argument that I can attach, like ?s=xxx or related to search, given the following link.

Also is there maybe an advanced search I have not found.

The forum search here sub-par when it comes to multiple search terms. You may want to try using a Google search instead. Start your search query with (excluding the quotes, of course) “site:http://wordpress.org/support/”
