    Hi Jess

WP Forms was working fine for me till I installed a second copy of the same form on a separate page last week, and now neither of the forms work – i.e. users can enter details and press the submit button, but the details disappear into the ether – they don’t appear in my inbox like they used to.

I have the WP Mail SMTP plugin installed (even though it worked fine previously without it), but still no joy.

I have checked with the hosting provider, and there seem to be no problems at their end.

Any suggestions apart from a re-install? I tried to remove (uncheck) CAPTCHA in case that was causing any problems, but it didn’t help.

    Form is here: http://ellconmeet.org/registration-and-payment/registration-payment-volunteers/

    Many thanks for your time!

    Hi Jess

I sorted this by deactivating WP Mail SMTP plugin – strangely this worked and now the forms are all working fine. Seems to be some conflict between the two plugins.

    Hi flowerscat,

We don’t have any conflicts between WPForms and WP Mail SMTP, however there are tons of factors that contribute to sending emails (server settings, email provider settings/rules, code on your site, etc) — and it’s not uncommon for those to cause odd or unexpected issues.

If you’d like to troubleshoot this further, would you please re-activate WP Mail SMTP and send a test email through it? Then, you could share the debug output here (this is the most informative part for us). If you’d also be willing to share a screenshot of your SMTP settings, that’s helpful as well.

Thanks, and please let me know 🙂

    Hi pablobe,

When you get a chance, would you please send a test email through WP Mail SMTP and then share the debug log here? This will help us to see more details, such as which mailer you’re using and what errors are being displayed.

If you’d be willing to start a new thread, that may help to avoid confusion as well.

    Thanks! 🙂

I am currently having issued with my contact form as well. Please advise how to fix the contact form as it is currently showing up as the following on my website:

    [contact-form-7 404 “Not Found”]

    Please advise, thank you!

    Hi mollycoughlan,

The shortcode you shared is for Contact Form 7 — but this forum is for WPForms. If you have any questions about WPForms, we’ll be happy to help! 🙂

Jess – how do you create and share a debug output?

    Hi flowerscat,

I’m sorry I wasn’t more clear about that! To get a debug log, you’ll need to go to Settings > WP Mail SMTP, then click the Email tab (shown in this screenshot).

Then enter a valid email address (one that you’d be able to check), and click the Send Email button.

If the email sends successfully, you’ll simply receive a short success message. If it doesn’t, though, you’ll see a longer debug output on this page instead.

Either way, anything you see on this page after sending the test email will help me to assist 🙂

Also, in case it helps we have tutorials on all of the Mailer options for WP Mail SMTP (these include the full setup process, as well as the test email process). Here’s our doc with links to those separate tutorials, as well as additional details about SMTP. I hope that helps!

    Hi all,

We haven’t seen any activity on this thread for a while, so I’m going to go ahead and close it for now.

If anyone who’s posted still needs help, though, please feel free to continue the conversation and we’ll go from there.

    Thanks! 🙂

Jess – haven’t forgotten about the debug log, but don’t want to mess about with the forms now that registration is ongoing. Once it closes, I’ll post the report here. I have your instructions saved 🙂 Thank you for your help, and the plugins!

No problem, flowerscat, thanks for the update and hope registrations go well! 🙂

    Please help!

    Hi mezzatesta,

I haven’t seen this error before, however it seems likely that there’s a plugin or theme code conflict. This most often happens when a plugin’s code isn’t properly contained, and so ends up overflowing into pages for other plugins.

The best way to quickly find the source of the issue is by following WPBeginner’s troubleshooting tutorial. This will allow you to track down the source of the error, and the tutorial shows you every step you’ll need.

    I hope this helps! 🙂

    Hi Jess,
thanks for the response, will surely try with the troubleshooting.

    Cheers,
    G
