1 of 2 things
1. you are using bad behaviour, and its blocking it
2. your host is utilizing mod_security, and thats blocking it
Im betting its #2 since the permalink is a 412, also.
If you change your post slug from free-toilets to freetoilets, I bet it works. (Just for a test)
free- is a typical spam string ..
Thanks so much for the response!
I’ve disabled Bad Behavior and changed the post slug and the problem is still there. Any other ideas? Maybe we need to contact our host.
well sure, I can tell you how to disable mod_security, but it works better if theyre actually using it.
You arent blocking any sketchy referers in your .htaccess, right? Not using any more bad referer, spam stopping plugins??
The .htaccess is stock WordPress. Nothing extra in it. The only other spam plugin is akismet and I never heard of it causing problems.
I can tell you how to disable mod_security, but it works better if theyre actually using it.
are they using it, ask your host, and if so, what version?
Roadsassy.com is my blog. Sending Hosting Matters your questions about mod_security, they responded with this, which, i guess, means I can’t use the word socialism in my titles or posts. or something. Does this mean I am going to be deluged with spam?
Yes, we do run mod_sec on every server. The problem is the word “socialism” in your post title. It contains the word “cialis” which is a favorite spammer subject, as you might know. I do not want to completely exempt your site from mod_security scanning, as that will mean you (and the server) won’t have that added layer of protection against the evil spammers, but there’s really no other way around it. Site exempted.

UPDATE:
Well, mod_security was indeed the problem. The word “socialism” was in the title and it contains the word “cialis,” which seems overly cautious. The host has turned mod_sec off.
Thanks for the assist. It really was a big help!
