Wp-cache and WP 2.0.4

We are trying to make wp-cache work with WP 2.0.4 we did manual and automatic setup we made the fix for the blank page we verified all permissions again and again and everything that should be is writeable by the webserver and still in the stats its showing 0 pages cached and in the cache folder itself is only this file ” wp_cache_mutex.lock ” . I think I read a few times that wp-cache wont work with the latest WP versions but then again I see others who say they use it.

Any suggestions?
