WP and Mamp

I’ve followed the instructions of several different tutorials to get WP up and running on MAMP to no avail. I’m on 10.6.6.

I tried all of these:

To no avail. With every single thing I’ve tried, I get “page not found” upon entering the magical http://localhost/8888 etc.

Any thoughts on this?
