WP 1.5.2 not recognizing new theme stylesheet

    That’s pretty much it – I am running 1.5.2 and am trying to change to the automatic midnight theme by J. contonio, but although I downloaded the file twice from his page, and it shows all the correct files when I unzipped it, when I ftp’d it up to my themes file, WP lists it as a “broken theme”, says the stylesheet is missing (even though I know it is there!). I don’t know enough about CSS or db issues to figure it out. Help!?

    My advice would be to delete the relevant files off the server, then upload the new ones. Then check that they are up with your FTP client, then go to the Presentation page and see if it still lists it as broken.

    Or, double check that you haven’t FTP’ed your new theme with double folders.

    Sometimes when a theme is unzipped on a desktop, there’s another folder inside the first, and when its FTP, the stylesheet cannot be referenced thru two folders.

    Check:
    themes
    -your new theme name
    — your new theme name
    —css style sheet.
