wordpress.com blog user issues

Hey all,

I’m not sure if it’s a matter of misunderstanding the way the wordpress.com blogs work or if there’s a problem so hope someone can clear it up for me.

I installed WP on my own server and everything with that is fine. I needed to set up an account on wp.com so I could get my Akismet key but didn’t set up a blog.

I showed a friend my blog & dashboard to introduce him to wp and advised him to set up a blog on wp.com and he did. I think I subscribed to it but I can’t remember clearly whether it was that or something else.

I recently logged into my wp.com account and was surprised to see I had access to my friends dashboard under my login?

He has left 3 posts and via the dashboard I don’t have the option to Edit but can add new posts.

When I look at ‘My Blogs’ page it say’s I’m a member of my friends blog so I guess that there was a link to allow me to sign up on his blog?
