wordpress mu 2.8.5 to 3.01

    not really a problem I think, just a thought. Before my holiday I tested the migration from wpmu 2.8.5 to wp 3.01 via wpmu 2.9.2.

    Now that I’m back from holiday wpmu 2.8.5 suggests wpmu 3.01. I know that wpmu and wp merge into one in version 3 but the installationfile-size is different if you take wpmu 3.01 or wp 3.01. Migration with wpmu 3.01 package shows wordpress 3.01 in the interface so I’m not sure if I need to overwrite them still with the wp 3.01 files or not.

    So, my question is : is my installation up-to-date with the wpmu 3.01 migration or should I overwrite those with the wp 3.01 (wpmp 3.01 == wp 3.01 ?)

    I tested the migration from wpmu 2.8.5 to wp 3.01 via wpmu 2.9.2.

    Your first instinct to upgrade MU 2.8.5 to MU 2.9.2 first before upgrading to WP 3.0.1 is the better way to upgrade your installation since there are notable changes in MU 2.9.2 and WP 3.0.1 = a new commentmeta table for each blog in MU 2.9.2 and .htaccess and directory file changes in 3.0.1. As always, backup database and server files for each upgrade.
