WordPress in Domains

Hey all,
I feel I may have made a mistake.

I recently launched a website a few weeks ago, and in the process of searching and thinking up of potential domains, I found one, but it contained “wordpress” in the title.

Now while doing more research, I recently came upon this page:
http://wordpress.org/about/domains/

And I didn’t realize that my domain name was in violation, and I already have a few pages and posts (and forums) under the site.

Now my question is has anyone else ever experienced a situation like this? Would it be easier to just register a new domain or is it possible to discuss with the WP staff about keeping it? And if it is, who would I ask?
