wordpress 3.1 saving erratic, stats not working

    Edited documents are not always saving using WordPress 3.1. I press save draft, and half the time all the new edits are lost once the save and refresh screen process completes. Same with adding images. Had to go through the process 5 times to get an image saved within the draft.

    WP-stats is denying me access with some error about my wordpress.com login hot having permissions to look at my local hosted blog.

    Maybe we need the lyricism of Grappelli rather than Rheinhardt?

    Have you tried:

    – checking through Troubleshooting WordPress 3.1 – Master List

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    thanks Esmi,

    I’ve deactivated the plugins suggested in the master list, I have 20 10 theme already installed

    not sure what “resetting” the plugins folder involves.

    the wp-stats issue seems to be something more widespread that others are having issues with, maybe like an API key is not being found or similar?

    The wp-stats issue is unrelated. You need to install the Jetpack plugin which has effectively replaced the old wp-stats plugin.

    Esmi,

    Thanks for your continued concern and ideas. It was the Jetpack thing that I needed. Not sure how I managed to miss that Jetpack was now required – I’ve been away for my blog for about 1 month, maybe that’s the reason.

    Anyhow stats now working. Not sure about the erratic saving. Will check over time and if still an issue will deactivate all plugins as you suggest
