Once you’re in again, you can upgrade WordPress from your dashboard.
I am upgradeing manually because my host site does not allow for automatic upgrade. I do not see some files that I am not supposed to delete. Does that mean I just don’t have them? The questioned files are .htaccess and wp-config.php

LNmumu, don’t delete the wp-config.php file, you need that. I think the guide is referring to the wp-config-sample.php file, which you don’t need. If you don’t have a .htaccess file or a wp-config-sample.php file, you can ignore that step.
