• Hi

I logged onto my wordpress admin area today and noticed that Wordfence had disappeared. on the plugins page it said that the plugin had been removed because the files didnt exist. I tried to reinstall it and it wouldnt let me because it said that the \wordfence directory existed already. So I had a look at the files and sure enought there was an empty \wordfence directory in the plugins folder. I deleted it and then managed to reinstall wordfence. When I then tried to set up the firewall in wordfence I got to a point where it said

The Wordfence Web Application Firewall is designed to run via a PHP ini setting called auto_prepend_file in order to ensure it runs before any potentially vulnerable code runs. This PHP setting is currently in use, and is including this file:

and then mentioned the file /tmp/pre.php which I no nothing of, it said to contatc this support before proceeding if I dont recognise the file.
    Thanks for any support

  • Hi philingle,
I recommend asking your hosting provider about this file /tmp/pre.php before choosing to include our file or overriding it. Maybe they included it for an important reason?

Please check that with them and update us back about this issue.

    Thanks.
