Wordfence cannot get API Key

    I have installed and activated the wordfence plugin on a WPMU site that is hosted on a linode hosted server running gentoo linux.

    After activating wordfence it pops up a pink box saying “Wordfence could not get an API key from the Wordfence scanning servers when it activated.”

    I can run wget noc1.wordfence.com from this server via command line and it retrieves an index.html that contains “{“errorMsg”:”WordFence API error: Your site did not send an API key when contacting the Wordfence servers.”}”

    Any advice would be appreciated.
