Hi @stardeslebens,
PayPal Plus does not work with automatic renewals, so if you want to use it with subscription products, you have to enable “Accept manual renewals” in the WooCommerce Subscriptions settings.
Your customers then need to manually pay for each renewal.
This could potentially be combined with payment reminders, but it’s not a setup we officially support.
Kind regards,
Niklas
Hi @niklasinpsyde
so this means the PayPal Plus plugin cannot be used together with the PayPal payment method already included in WooCommerce? Just asking because we already use WooCommerce subscriptions for 3 years (with PayPal) and I was about to evaluate the usage of PayPal Plus.
This looks like a showstopper then.
Kind regards,
Gerd
Hi @gerdneumann,
Sure, you can combine the PayPal Plus plugin with the Standard PayPal gateway or with other PayPal plugins for that matter. But if you offer your customers multiple different PayPal gateways, it may be a bit confusing.
The problem with automatic renewals is that PayPal Plus as a service does not support it and I am not aware of any plans to make it happen.
So only manual renewals are possible if you want to use PayPal Plus for subscription products.
But our latest plugin WooCommerce PayPal Payments will receive full support for subscriptions and brand new PayPal features very soon.
This new plugin has nothing to do with PayPal Plus though, as PayPal Plus is a separate service from PayPal for the German market.
Kind regards,
Niklas
