Hello,
I setuped different attributes, but I’d like attribute “plain color” and “patina” to be mutually exclusive (in fact, you can’t pick up have both).
Do they have to be 2 separate attributes? You can create just one attribute and then add variations (“plain” and “patina”) to that attribute. That way, your customers can only choose either one of them (only one variation can be selected from one attribute).
To learn more about variable products, please visit our documentation here: https://woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/
Thank you @maykato !
I’ll check the article and learn how to do it !
The thing is, as shown below, people can still pick-up both color and patina options (which is not possible) :

I don’t get it how I can add something like a boolean condition (OR instead of AND) to these attributes.
Now that I’ve understand how attributes works more cleary, let me rephrase :
If create an attribute with, for e.g. “plain color” and “patina”, is there a way to display different color options depending on the choice ?
Hi @juliuxxxx,
To add conditional logic to WooCommerce product variations, you need a plugin like Composite Products or Extra Custom Product Options for WooCommerce. To know what’s possible to achieve with these extensions please refer to their support documentation:
– https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/extra-custom-product-options-for-woocommerce/
For pre-sales questions please contact us at:
https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/#sales-form
From there, click on the tab “I have a question about a specific extension or theme I’d like to purchase.” We will be able to help you further there.
Just so you know, we offer a 30-day refund policy so you can test out the extensions with your requirements and make sure they work for you. If you’re interested, here are more details on the refund policy: https://woocommerce.com/refund-policy/.
Thanks.
Thank you very much ! Sorry for late answer, I was gone for holidays !
The “extra custom product options” plugin seems to do the job so fare, but I don’t understand why the “add to cart” button is greyed despite all options have been selected. Is there anything else to setup to enable the “add to cart” button to work ?
Thanks !
Hi @juliuxxxx
I hope you had an awesome holiday there! This topic is marked as resolved, but I’d recommend reaching out directly to your plugin developer, so they can double-check it for you.
Also, feel free to create a new topic if have other questions about WooCommerce!
All the best,
