• Checkout layout change

I constantly have customers telling me the checkout does not work, but I think it is more to do with the layout when using a tablet or mobile.

On a PC (wide screen)layout I have two columns

Left column which you read first has

    Your Order
    Product & Total
    Subtotal
    Total

    Payment methods

Check box for terms & conditions
    Complete entry

Then on the right side all the registration info

    Billing details
    Additional info

On a PC/larger screen, because you see both left and column at the same time, it is easier to make sense of the whole process

However, on smaller screens there is only one column and as you can see from above, customers are asked to “complete” the order, beffore they have scrolled down further to add billing info. A lot of my customers seem to get stuck at this point because they don’t scroll down, or don’t think they need to scroll down and keep receiving an error but don’t know why.

Terms & Conditions check box & “Complete order” button on the right side …AFTER everything has been shown that needs completing. It is bonkers the way it is.

I am loosing customers because of this

  • Hi @seniormasters, you’ll need to provide a link to your store if you want people to be able to help you. This can be solved by making changes to your Theme and/or the WooCommerce template files for the Checkout.

If the theme lacks responsive styling, have you considered requesting this from the theme author?

Thank you for replying. The theme is fully responsive. Hence the right column adjust under the left column on a tablet/mobile. I thought that was standard practice

It is having the complete/submit button at the end of the left column when the right column adjusts below it on a narrow screen that is the problem.

I am really surprised that this does not happen to other people as this really is a very big problem for me.

The ideal would be for the right column info to swap places with the left column info

    Thanks

    Michelle
