I decided to test out the Account creation before letting my woocommerce site go live. Whereas the Account Registration went through okay, the mail that was sent was a problem.

Before I start rewriting this I thought I’d ask if this is a known problem and how other people deal with it.

    1. The site title does not appear in the opening ‘Welcome To’ greeting.

    2. The user name specified is the default, not what it was changed to during registration.

    3. Worst of all, the link ‘https://mywebsite.co.uk/my-account’ in the welcome email translates to ‘url5017.mywebsite.co.uk/wf/……’ I don’t know what that’s all about, but if clicked on it presents a page that is marked as ‘Not Secure’ and states that the connection is not private even though the site has https:// forced on all pages.

I’m presuming I can just rewrite this but I don’t really want to, I’d just like to know how to fix these issues.

    thanks

I’ve also changed my password and the resultant email sent to me was missing the date as well as providing an incorrect username.

At the bottom of the email was a link to the website ‘https://mywebsite.co.uk’, but again, that showed a url beginning ‘url5017.mywebsite.co.uk/….’ when hovered over which when clicked gave the aforementioned ‘Not Secure’ message.

This is making Accounts unusable and I may have to just turn off this functionality but I would like to get to the bottom of this if anyone can help.

    thanks

    Hi there,

It sounds like your site’s theme may be overriding all of the default WooCommerce email templates. Please try temporarily switching back to the default Storefront theme and create another test account to see if the emails appear differently.

If that fixes the issue, then I would recommend reaching out to your theme author about this.

If it doesn’t, then it’s possible another active plugin on the site is conflicting — with the theme still switched, please try deactivating all plugins aside from WooCommerce, then testing again. If that fixes the issue, then try re-enabling them one-by-one until you find the one causing the issue.

I hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.
