Widgets Don’t Work!
-
Hello Folks!
Right now I can change current sidebar widgets but I can’t add one. When I try to add one it won’t let me select and drag. It says this near the top of widget central…
“Drag widgets from here to a sidebar on the right to activate them. Drag widgets back here to deactivate them and delete their settings.”
One good fellow suggested I “reupload wp-includes and wp-admin files.”
If that will fix it I will do it, but (there’s always a “but”) Don’t I have to know exactly which version of WP I am currently using to get the exact right for version wp-includes and wp-admin files.
I make everything too difficult…is there someone who can do this for me?
What would THAT entail?
Anyway I need to fix my widgets! And I usually need very detailed instructions.
You see…I use a blog on the outside. I never go far inside and as a result I know very little, but just enough to cause trouble and waste time.
For me going inside is like falling down the rabbit hole.
Thank you,
Riley West

Look in the footer of your Admin area.

Payment, probably.
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
