• I am new to WP, but when I add any widget to the sidebar everything is replaced by what I added. No menus, links, nothing is there any more. Is there a setting I missed?

    Thank You
    Phil

Never mind, I see I have to add everything back from the default.

Hey pbrunson, I’m having the same issue since I switched themes, it says I’m using 0 widgets, but 6 are showing. I’m unable to add more without seeming to delete what’s there now. Unable to move what’s there as well. If this is what you experienced, can you be more specific about how you fixed that? Thanks!

By default there are some widgets that will show up. If you manually add any it will reset the whole sidebar. You will need to manually add all the widgets you want, i.e.: Search, pages, Categories, Links, meta, ect… That is what I did and everything in the world was right again, well on my page at least.
