Hi again, thanks for you help recently. It’s very much appreciated.

I’ve got an issue with the widget for the latest jobs.

It works fine on the side bar as normal, but if you have the sidebar activated on the job page, the widget doesn’t display the same!

Say for instance that you click through to the job, the job opens in a new page and then the widget box seems to be broken in terms of styling! Yet it works elsewhere on the site. It’s only broken on the actual job pages (once you click through).

    I hope this makes sense!

  • Hi uklightpainter,

Have you got a link to look at?

Can you delete this link afterwards?

    I can’t – I’m not an administrator; Mike might be able to…

Would be best to wait for him to answer 🙂

    That’s not done here.

You can edit your posts up to 30 minutes (I think, it may be more but it’s not a restriction I have…) but if you do not want that link to be public then please do not post it.

It is not the general policy to edit or delete forum posts. When a post is made and people contribute answers to an issue, that then becomes part of the community resource for others to benefit from. Editing or deleting posts removes this added value. In extreme circumstances, the moderation team might be persuaded to remove sensitive information but, generally, your best course of action is not to publish anything that you wouldn’t want to be public.

EDIT: Darn. Beaten by 7 seconds!

    Lol ok!

I think it’s because of some empty fields, but it shows fine on the other pages.

    It’s currently on a testing subdomain –

If you look at the widget, it shows fine on the right hand side on this page. But click through to ‘Live Jobs’ and the sidebar changes completely once you click through to a job. Yet it’s the same widget.

Sounds like a styling conflict which could be fixed in your theme css, but without a link I cannot really verify this. Maybe come back when your site goes ‘live’ so we can see.

    Hi Mike,

We posted the same time, I’ve put a link above now.

Thats not the standard widget which comes with this plugin. The source is different on the single page – it has links within links for example, which is probably why it looks misstyled.

You should check with whom implemented it?

    Just had another look,

There’s some structural changes to the HTML between the single page view and the single job view.

In the single page view, you’ve got an <a> tag that wraps the div.position and a ul.meta.

In the single job view, you’ve the <a> does not wrap the div.position nor the ul.meta.

This would account for differences in styling…
