• I was looking at the codex page that had about a thousand different urls to automatically ping. It also talked about the pingomatic that would ping several urls for you, but I doubt it pings all of those on that list. Also, pinging all of the urls on that list probably double pings some – like pinging technorati and pingomatic and pingomatic pings technorati as well.
    So here’s my question:
If I want to make sure I’m pinging everybody, or atleast the most important urls just once (so I’m not seen as spam), is there a recommended short list that I should use.
i.e. – if you’re reading this and really know what you’re doing, what urls do you auto-ping?

  • I would start with pingomatic, and, if you want to avoid duplicates, go through the list on the Codex and compare it with the list of URLs Pingomatic pings. It’ll take some work, but I think that’s the best way to do it. Once you set your update services, I’d back up the list, so that if you either want to create a new blog, or something goes wrong with the normal one, you’re set. I hope this helps.
