    Dear folks,

This is a beautiful PlugIn which helped me to move to a SEO friendly permalink in my WordPress installation. As I believe, over time Google and other search engines would have indexed my new links, so can I just go ahead and delete this PlugIn ?

I did a basic search in Google and my new links are getting listed but when I go back and check the database, I see a LOT of new entries for every day. As of now the table has more than 1.2 Million records and is of > 300 MB. The total SQL size is about 500 Mb.

    Please help/suggest.

    Best,
    Nandan

Redirection will tell you when a particular URL was last redirected. It’s up to you to decide if enough time has passed to consider it changed everywhere. Remember that it’s not only Google who may be using old URLs – people may have linked to them directly.

If you set a log expiry (in the Redirection settings) then it will gradually trim your logs.

Thank you John. I do see a very small number of re-directs still so would dig-down. I did set a log-expiry of 1 week but for some reason the tables were still adding all the data. I deleted the log and that reduced the table size drastically, so I am good there.

    Thanks again. Wishes.
