    Whoa! That would take me forever to fix all those…

    Maybe. But not necessarily.
    However, it will be easier to look at the code knowing it is valid – so helpers could concentrate on solving the remaining issues. As it is now… nobody will bother to take a look at it.

    fixing (X)HTML errors doesn’t take an intellect in programming. It takes a rudimentary understanding of how to achieve valid markup (and a good deal of that is just common sense – every opening tag needs a closing tag, etc.. nesting properly), patience, and the ability to read and follow instructions.
