What are these visits?

    I have the 404 notifier plugin and I’ve noticed that lately I’ve been getting hammered with odd requests such as:

    /2005/04/<wbr>10/upcoming-events/trackback

    That WBR tag (java?) is inserted in the same place for many different URLs, mostly, but not always, for trackbacks. The IPs in the logs are all from AT&T, but no referrers. User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) Anyone know why these visits are occurring or what they’re looking for? Also, does anyone know of a 301 redirect that will work?
