• It appears that we cannot use WF caching either Basic or Falcon. Big disappointment. When either is turned on I do not get updated activity logs, logs are severely reduced. Cannot turn on Live Traffic when in performance mode but still should see “aged” traffic yes? Filter for Human Traffic returns blank results as discussed on other posting. Without logging I cannot verify protection. Is there protection without logging?

Disabled the one plugin I think might cause interference, WP-SpamShield, which would be an unfortunate loss if could not use it. But no difference. Cleared WF live table and blocks with WF Assistant between each caching/plugin test to more easily see results.

Until resolved fear to use WF caching. Cannot work through +/- plugins testing yet as that requires wee hours (unless an emergency which this is not – yet – will put off caching).

When either caching is On, there is a quick-flash message:

    An unknown location at IP
IP: [unblock] [unblock this range] [block]
Invalid Date Invalid Date (NaN seconds ago)
    hits
in unknown location at IP arrived from and left and tried to access non-existent page visited was at logged in successfully as “”. logged out successfully. requested a password reset. attempted a failed login as “”. attempted a failed login using an invalid username “”. changed their password.

If anyone has insight, please share?
    Thank you!

  • For what it’s worth, I’ve found both types of Wordfence caching to be quite problematic and ended up, much to my dismay, having to install yet another plugin to cache my most important site. I used WP Super Cache. Seems to work quite well though the documentation is nothing less than arcane. MTN

    Hi,
Yes, using “Basic caching” or “Falcon Engine” will disable the “Activity Log” but you still can see “Login and firewall activity”, don’t worry the Firewall protection will be running as long as you see “Enabled and Protecting” under (Wordfence > Firewall => Firewall Status) and of course make sure you have “Protection Level: Extended Protection” there.

I’m not sure where exactly you get this quick flash message?

Also, please make sure to check these possible reasons for not logging human visits in this reply here.

    Thanks.

The flash message above happens when loading or reloading “Live Traffic” (with real time off or on).
