Weird Plugin Admin

    Hi, I just recently have installed WP, and haven’t done anything configed other than plugin.
    First, when I installed plugin(which I tried 5 or 6 plugins), I never have to turn them activate, ’cause they already are, and in this circumstance, all plugin are not activate at all!
    They are ,however, activated when I turned them off.
    I installed WP following official doc, and have done that without a problem.
    I think everything else works just fine.
    Does anybody else encountered the similar problem?
    What do you guys think is the cause of this problem?
    I think plugins works fine so it is not urgent, but still it is weird enough to report it.

    sometimes the plugins come activated “out of the box”. if it is not causing any problems then you don’t have to worry about it

    Thanks for the reply, but my problem is Plugins are Not active when it says ACTIVATE in plugin manager in admin page, but They ARE active when it says DEACTIVATE.
    Seems like Plugins I have installed work fine in this situation, but I’d still like to know how to fix it to normal condition.

    You are reading the fields incorrectly, in that you are reversing the meaning.

    As of WP 1.5.1 or so, any Plugin that is activate will be bolded and possibly have a green background. This means that the plugin is activated. The “Action” field indicates what you could DO with the plugin, if it isn’t activated, you can Activate it and if it is already activated, you can Deactivate it.

    The current status of a plugin is determined by it being bold or having a different background color. If a plugin has neither, it is not activated yet.

    I noticed If I clicked ACTIVATE, it says plugin activated on top.

    Okay, I get the ACTIVATE bit, but I have a similar problem.

    I also saw that if you hit ACTIVATE, it comes back and says “Plugin activated” in the top bar. Problem is, it only says that – it does not do it.

    Proof: I loaded a new plugin (wp-poll) and did everything according to its installation readme. As soon as I reference functions from the new plugin, it kills my blog page.

    How can I see (in a file, in the db, anywhere???) that a plugin is uactuallyu active?
