Web link thumbnails/ suggested plug-ins

Afternoon. I’m looking for a plug-in that will allow me to use a “gallery” like method to display website that I like or are my friend’s sites/blogs, etc. I found 1 or 2 and tried the plugins without much success. either the plugin was way to complicated or the refresh was too slow. (assuming it was going out the site and resizing dynamically).
