W3 Total Cache Minify Settings

I’m currently using W3TC except for the Minify which I use Autoptimize to do the job. The reason is I don’t quite understand the usage of the Minify settings screen.

The JS and CSS file management groups: Is this automated where the plugin automatically find all css and js files to combine, compress, and minify like Autoptimize? Cause it seems the plugin is manual; unless I specify all the css and js files, none of them will be optimized. Am I right?
