Visual Editor does not open

I’ve been thru many posts about this, and followed all of the standard advice
- Disabled all Plugins – no change
- Checked user settings – visual editor is on
  I haven’t done something I read about working with the plugins folder via FTP, as that sounded a bit advanced, but I will try this if someone can walk me through it. I know my way around my file structure, but I’m not a coder or web admin.
  
  Any other likely suspects to check on?

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin.

– Also, check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.

I can get into PHPMyAdmin, but how does one ‘RESET’ the plugins folder? I don’t recall seeing a Reset button in there.

I followed all instructions, reset the plugins folder, still can’t open the visual editor tab.

Any other possible culprits?

try add this code to your wp-config.php file:
define( 'SCRIPT_DEBUG', true );

Ok, that line of code was already in there, but with ‘false’, so I changed to ‘true’. Is there an error log that I can look at now?

No, still nothing. The tab is there but clicking it does nothing.
