• I used this plugin in the past, quite difficult to set up and the interface not particularly user friendly compared to other security plugins, but it is seriously powerful and the best I found to feel secure.
I would suggest to make the plugin and all its settings easier to temporarily deactivate when installing WP updates and new plugins. ALso had serious issues with FTP changes when the plugin was deactivated, the directories were still protected and all my changes kept being quarantined regardless.

    Thanks ivanoconfa. Very much appreciated!

Yep, I agree the setup and UI|UX interface in BPS and BPS Pro were not very user friendly in the past. The new Setup Wizards and new BPS and BPS Pro UI|UX improvements in the last year or so seem to be much more user friendly based on the current feedback we get. If you have any ideas about how to improve things even more in BPS and BPS Pro then you can post them here or send us an email. We are always interested in feedback and new ideas for improvements. 😉

Both BPS and BPS Pro have individual On|Off settings for every/all plugin features instead of using the basic standard WP Plugin deactivate|activate troubleshooting method used in all other WP Plugins. We have found that this provides much better/more accurate troubleshooting capability to confirm, eliminate or isolate exactly what/which plugin feature is causing an issue/problem.

Regarding the FTP file changes: Most likely what happenend is this scenario: If you edit files using FTP while BPS Pro is deactivated then BPS Pro AutoRestore|Quarantine will not check any files for changes, but as soon as you activate the BPS Pro plugin again then AutoRestore|Quarantine will start checking files again for any changes. If any new file changes are found then AutoRestore|Quarantine will autorestore and/or quarantine those files/file changes. If/when files are sent to Quarantine then use the Restore File option in Quarantine to restore those files. Thanks again for your Review.
