Verifying Google Sitemaps

My cpanel setup doesn’t allow me to upload to the absolute root directory – the http://domain.com/directory— I could only upload to the home/database/ part (the cpanel setup loses the ^up one level option after I reach a certain point.

The other option requires inserting a meta tag in the html code. How can I access that in WP? I was looking through the stylesheets and page files and i couldnt figure it out. hehe.
