    The admin can see and use the forums fine, users cannot. I am using the wpforo default access settings and user groups. Any possible changes would make no sense.
    what am i missing?

    After further messing around it seems if i register a user through the forum there is no issue. Problem is i am using multisite and wpmembers plugin, buddypress has no issue with the plugin and gets its login from one of 3 other sites. Gamipress is also working perfectly as is woocommerce and wcfm marketplace.

    Perhaps some wpmembers integration could be handy!
    if you have an explanation on how i can get login from buddypress which in turn gets it from wpmembers it would be much appreciated.

    @wayneg03 I did a wp-members, buddypress and wpforo build (which tbh didn’t work that well) a while ago but have just done a wp-members > wpforo installation. While I’ve not found it possible to currently do a full wp-members integration the two can be made to work together quite well. In the process of developing that site I took the decision to ditch buddypress completely and it made life a lot easier. It all depends of course what you’re needing buddypress to handle. Happy to share experiences with you if want.

    cheers for the reply.

    It doesnt matter if wpforo is on buddypress or not, they just wont playing nice.
    It will not even let me log in with existing users.
    It will not display correctly to existing users.
    User role defaults change site to site.
    so far wpforo has convinced me to try and find an alternative as it wont work with multisite and users registered on another site and is slowly screwing ALL my configuration elsewhere.
    I DONT WANT PEOPLE BEING FORCED TO REGISTER WITH THE FORUM, MY STORE/MARKET TAKES PRIORITY.

    Hi @wayneg03,
    First please check those users in Dashboard > Forums > Members admin page and make sure those are active:

    If those are inactive, please activate those and check again.

    Thats my problem, the users registered on my other sites do not show in this area, The user registered in wpforo does show. I need all users across all sites to have access but not have to register on wpforo.
    Ive reached a point where stuff is breaking and this is becoming too much stress to want to use.
    please just integrate wp-members and multisite.

    That’s true. wpForo doesn’t add users in forum members if those are not registered in current sub-site. This was required by dozens of our users. They asked as to not display members of other sub-sites in current forum member area, other sub-site users should not be added in current sub-site forum. That’s way currently wpForo does that. Hundreds of forums are currently based on this logic so you see the same on your website.

    There is no any integration point here, the only issue is that.

    so how do my users access the forum then, some help would be nice…… i cannot force them to sign up on wpforo as i have woocommerce in use, i cannot force them to use a second account, that is unprofessional. buddypress does nothing to help. wpforo has no options i can use to make it accept outside users? seems a bit of an oversight.

    So, your current problem is allowing users of X sub-site to see and use the forums of Y sub-site?

    Thread Starter wayneg03

    (@wayneg03)

    That is correct. My users registered on a,b,c cannot access the forum on D.
    Users registered on D can access a,b,c.
    I need full access for all users across a,b,c,d as though it is one site.

    so im guessing that wpforo wont allow what i want despite buddypress supposedly being integrated? I shall start weeks of work from the beginning after wpforo screwed things and hopefully find a functioning forum plugin that does not prevent login from elsewhere.

    @wayneg03,

    so im guessing that wpforo wont allow what i want

    That’s not correct.

    We’re currently working on this and trying to add this feature in upcoming wpForo version. We’re planning to release the new version in a few days.

    I have just read through the update notes. There is no mention of anything to do with this issue….. can you advise please, i really cannot use this if my logged in (via other sites) users cannot see the forum without creating a second account, rendering the forum useless.

    Hi @wayneg03,
    Please wait a few more days. We’re still working on this. I’ll update you soon.
    In the meantime please check this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-multisite-user-sync/
    If this plugin can do the synchronization and allow users to login site-wide then all is ok.

    @wayneg03,
    There is no info in the update changelog, but we’ve made some important changes in core. So please update it and test. Also try to plugin I mentioned above.
