We have a blog that allows users to submit images of their cars to be featured on our site. We want this plugin to automatically compress images when a user uploads them on our upload page. Is that possible with this plugin?

Depends on how the images are processed after upload. If they go through the normal upload process, and end up in the Media Library, that is a definite yes.
Otherwise, here’s how you find out:

    1. Install and activate EWWW
    2. Upload an image the same way a user would.
    3. Visit the Bulk Optimize page under Media, and click Show Optimized Images
    4. See if the image you uploaded is listed there.

If it is not, find out which folder they are stored in, put that folder in the Folders to Optimize setting, and turn on Scheduled Optimization, and then EWWW will check approximately once an hour for newly uploaded images.
