• HI there,

    I am moving over to WordPress from my Joomla installations, and I really am happy so far – it seems a wonderful platform to use.

    I am however struggling with user access levels for my content.

    Basically I need to be able to achieve the following:

    ADMINISTRATOR creates a new user, and a role for the new user.

    ADMINISTRATOR can create many roles, which can access different content, likely to be decided by CATEGORY. So…
    “role A” can access CATEGORY “basic info”;
    “role B” can access CATEGORY “basic info” and “intermediate info”;
    etc

    Most pages and menu navigation on the site needs to be restricted to the user’s login credentials. So upon landing on the site, a user login box is displayed.

    When the user fills in their username/password the content for their “role” is displayed on the ‘front-end’ of the site.

    I have nearly accomplished this with the following plugins:

    Theme My Login
    User Role Editor
    Restrict Categories

    The problem is when a user logs in, they are taken to the “…/wp-admin” ‘back-end’ of the site.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks in advance

    Olly
