Hi Carlo,
It looks like you may have entered your API key incorrectly. The error “Host: Us32.api.mailchimp.com” leads me to believe an extra key was entered along with the API key. It should be either Us2.api.mailchimp.com or Us3.api.mailchimp.com.
You may want to just double the check that you are entering the correct API key on the settings page.
Evan
Hi Evan,
Sorry, nope, I double checked and tested with two different keys.
Both of them don’t work and they are copied directly from Mailchimp API page
I can also tell you that when I add the API key and I save it, I am redirected to a page (wp-admin/options.php) that remains black.
Please note that after the initial issue (always the same) the debug settings is not giving me additional errors
(So it may be possible that the issue was original a wrong API key, but the visible issue is that I cannot save the API KEY from Mailchimp)
I am receiving the same error message and my API key was also copied directly from MailChimp.
Hi,
Who is your host? The API key should not be saving with any additional characters. The error that both are you are running into leads me to believe that you have some sort of password manager or something else that is entering additional characters.
I can replicate the issue on my end by typing in the wrong API key. EG: 1234567-us32
Unfortunately as per the forum rules I can no longer ask for a temporary login to test things on my end. All I can recommend is that you try entering the API key in either a private or incognito window so that no browser extensions are enabled.
If you’re being redirected to options.php or some other random page when you save the settings, then you have a much larger issue at hand. Something is interfering with the redirects setup in the plugin. If that is the case I would recommend you try disabling ALL of your plugins (other than ours) and temporarily switching themes and testing again.
If the error persists, then it’s a server issue. I’ll need you to do some further debugging so we can help get to the bottom of the issue since I cannot replicate things on my end.
Thanks,
Evan
Hi Evan,
No, sorry, I had already tested your suggested workflow already, but it is not that the case.
I copy/paste the API Key exactly as it is, but when I click save I am shown a white page. It does not really matter what text I put in, I can’t get anything out of it.
Also, the debug log now does not show any error, just I simply can’t add the API Key. Is there any known compatibility with any other plugin?
Hi Carlonicora,
All that I can suggest is that you go through the knowledge base article that we have setup to help debug the issue. Without access to your site, and FTP to your server I can’t really know what’s going on. Unfortunately, it sounds like a larger issue at hand with your server/host provider.
I would recommend walking through the following knowledge base article:
https://yikesplugins.com/support/knowledge-base/i-received-the-following-error-we-received-an-unexpected-error-null/
Which may possibly return a more detailed error response from your server as to what’s going on under the hood.
The other part of your support request:
I can also tell you that when I add the API key and I save it, I am redirected to a page (wp-admin/options.php) that remains black.
Sounds like the redirects on your site are not set up properly. You should be returned to the settings page once you save things.
Evan
Hi Evan,
Sorry, forgot to come back on this.
After one of the latest updates of the plugin, the issue was solved! π
Awesome!
I’m glad that things are now working for you and it wasn’t anything too crazy that needed to be done.
I hope you have a wonderful new years! π
Evan
