The issue you experienced was caused by the fact that some of your images do not have resized versions — only the original URLs are available. We have released a fix in Re Gallery that allows it to work correctly even if only the original images exist.

However, the scaled versions are highly recommended because they are the standard behavior in WordPress, allowing the browser to load lighter, appropriately-sized images depending on the user’s screen size. Without them, your pages may load much slower, especially for very large images.

    Where the issue comes from:

    • Some of your images are very large (over 3700px), and WordPress may not generate all standard intermediate sizes for extremely tall images.
    • Server memory or execution limits can prevent WordPress from creating resized versions for these large images.
    • WordPress’ “big image scaling” feature may create a single scaled version but skip standard sizes.

Try one of the following steps to fix it:

    1. Regenerate thumbnails using the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin , this will create missing sizes for affected images.
    2. Increase PHP memory limits if your server runs out of memory during resizing (WP_MEMORY_LIMIT 512M or higher).
    3. Ensure Imagick is enabled on your server, it handles very tall images better than GD.
    4. Try uploading slightly smaller versions of these large images (below 3700px) — this can help WordPress generate all standard sizes successfully.

All features in Re Gallery will still work without making these changes, but the following these steps will allow WordPress and Re Gallery to properly use resized images, improving page load times and overall performance.
