    Hi,

I tried using the “URL lock-down feature” but it doesn’t seem to be working.

Can you share more information about the feature you are talking about? Where is this feature located?

    Thank you

The “URL lock-down feature” is mentioned here https://simple-membership-plugin.com/?s=lock-down

Scroll down to paragraph titled “Locking Down/Hiding Some Specific URLs from Anonymous Visitors”

    Check https://pasteboard.co/IPLddoR.jpg

I want to use this functionality to protect the file “https://adminconvin.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/retina-developer3.png”. I do not want simple visitors to be able to use the above link to download the file.

    Regards

Hi, thank you for providing more information. The addon you are referring to is for protecting pages and posts. This addon will not protect URLimages found in your /uploads/ directory. To protect images in your /uploads/ directory you need to use a security plugin or use other methods.

Let me know if you need more information or help.

    Kind regards

Hello again and thanks for your prompt reply,

In your last message you are saying: “The addon you are referring to is for protecting pages and posts. ”

In the addon documentation says the exact opposite! “This addon also has a URL lock-down feature that can be enabled to hide some URLs (that are not a standard post or page) from anonymous visitors of the site.”

    I’m confused

    Hi, Sorry for the confusion.

So the name of that addon is “Full Page Protection”. So anything inside the addon is within the context of a WordPress generated page. The addon can only hook into URLs that are dispatched and handled by WordPress (when the URL is being loaded). You are referring to a static file (which completely bypasses the WordPress’s system).

I have added more clarification to this feature in the documentation (by adding a note). If you have any suggestions as to what else can be added to the documentation to make it more clear, please let me know.
