When I try to upload a jpg photo to the media library, I get this error, no matter which upload method I use:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class services_json in /home/eight/public_html/blog/wp-includes/class-json.php on line 115

Any idea what’s wrong? I re-installed 2.9 tonight, but it made no difference. It just started happening since I upgraded WordPress to 2.9. Worked great previously for many photos.

  • go to settings —-> miscellaneous —-> check the upload location

    for you it would be
    /home/eight/public_html/blog/wp-content/uploads by default

I’d say it might be worth disabling all your plugins and switching to the default theme. If it starts working again, reactivate them all one by one to see which one of them is causing the problem.

I checked that, and it was already set correctly. Any other ideas?

Ugh …. so no one else is having this issue since upgrading to 2.9?

    Hi,

    Check with these options:

    -. Disable all the plugins.
    – Assign 755 recursive permissions to wp-content folder

    Thanks,

Problem resolved. It was a conflict with the plugin, WP Smush.it. I disabled the plugin and all is well! Thanks for your help.

Hi Bob – version 1.2.7 of WP Smush.it works around that JSON error.
