Upgrading to 2.9

    Is upgrading to 2.9 essential? (security problems)
    Or it is just for few added features?

    Can I get away with just having 2.8.6 for now?

    Hi,

    WordPress is a open souce tool so always stay upgraded to wordpress version. WordPress has added many features in its new release. You can refer them here:

    Yewsef,

    If you upgrade, first back up and test on a separate site.

    Better however, not to upgrade. I did not do these things and now I am in a fix.

    WP 2.9 has a host of bugs, it should never have been released, in my opinion! It should have remained in beta testing…

    Thank you all. I am just planning to wait for a few months before upgrading (when the bugs are resolved).
