This is not so much a need for help as a comment. The new way that the entire screen gets a red overlay and prompt to upgrade to pro whenever one allows the cursor to pass over a pro-only option is super annoying.

I get that you need to push the upgrade in order to make money, and I have purchased several licenses for sites where it made sense for me to unlock more options. However, IMHO you are going to drive people away from wanting to use your plugin at all with this new aggressive tactic that makes using the options super annoying.

It’s a fantastic plugin in all other ways!

OK – I just found the little “Hide Pro Options” checkbox on the right-hand side across from the “Update Options” button. This solves it.

    Hey there,

The whole screen shouldn’t get an overlay, that sounds incredibly annoying.

That is not happening on my development sites. Are you able to provide a way for me to reproduce that so it doesn’t happen anymore?

What browser, operating system are you using etc. so I can try and fix it.

    Please let me know

    I’m running Chrome v62.0.3202.94, OS X v10.11.6, WordPress 4.9

    Here’s a screenshot: https://cjbuilt.com/upgrade-overlay.png

The only way to remove the overlay is to take the cursor completely off the browser window and then make sure to bring it back on over a non-pro option.

    Hey there,

Wow that is incredibly annoying, thanks for pointing that out to me, I can assure you it is not meant to be like that!

I have just released 3.1.10 which among other things tries to fix that issue. Unfortunately I can’t recreate it here but you can you update to 3.1.10 and let me know if it still happens for you?

Please let me know and thanks again!

I’m sorry to say there is no change.

I made a quick screen capture video for you, hopefully that will help you resolve it.

    Hey there,

Thanks for the video, it is very helpful.

I have been able to replicate this now and have just released 3.1.11 to fix it. Pretty annoyed I had to get 2 hotfix releases out to fix it but I’d rather it be fixed.

Can you check again with 3.1.11 to see if that fixes it for you.

Thanks for your help with this and sorry for all the back and forth.

Yes – you got it! I had to clear my cache to see it, so maybe you had it after the first hotfix.

Happy to help – I’m glad I took the time to mention it. Thanks for a great plugin and for your responsiveness to feedback!

    Hey there,

Thanks for checking and thank goodness that it is fixed now, I can finally sleep well tonight now!

Thanks for your patience, for letting me know and for your feedback as I tried to find the cause and fix.

Have a great day and if you need anything in future please do let me know.

    Peter
