I logged into my dashboard earlier and saw the notification regarding the update to 4.2.1. I went and clicked Update, and now my URL and dashboard are gone. I can’t access either one.

I’m a total layman when it comes to coding, I did not back up as I was supposed to do, but I have been running the site through the dashboard for 4 years with no problems. I have no idea what to do. Can I roll back the update through FTP?

    URL is http://acatribe.com

    Please help.

  • BEFORE you do this I would suggest that you login to your cPanel hosting management and use phpmyadmin to take a backup of your website database.

Rather than roll back the update, I would suggest that you do the upgrade manually. Download the zip file, expand it on your computer, then use FTP to upload it to your site overwriting what is there. Then run the “upgrade.php” file. Full details here:

Thank you, I figured it out by changing my default theme- all of a sudden, the dashboard was accessible again. I am backing up the files now. Thanks!
