    When I try to open the settings panel for the UpdraftPlus plugin, I get this error:

    {{#if first_instance}}
    Examples of S3-compatible storage providers: DigitalOcean SpacesCloudianConnectriaConstantEucalyptusNiftyCloudn… and many more!
    There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

    The email says:

    Error Details
    =============
    An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 2420 of the file /home/fhtkmqb3cdzf/public_html/oregonhighdesertclassics.org/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/S3.php. Error message: Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supported

    My site 411:
    WordPress version 6.2.2
    Active theme: GeneratePress (version 3.3.0)
    Current plugin: UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore (version 2.16.15.1)
    PHP version 8.0.28

    I have not been in the file on my control panel or changed anything there, but this is what line 2420 says: $this->response->headers[‘hash’] = ‘”‘ == $value{0} ? substr($value, 1, -1) : $value;

    The website appears to be working normally on the front end.

    The plugin you are using is very out of date, can you install a fresh version from here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/

    @vupdraft – That’s weird because WordPress said it’s up to date and didn’t even give me the option of updating in the plugin panel. I downloaded the new version and updated manually. It’s working now.

    Thank you! I appreciate the help 🙂

    It is likely because you have accidentally installed the Premium plugin and you cant update this unless you have an active licence.

    The version you had installed started with a 2 (the Premium plugin starts with a 2). If you have the free version installed it should start with a 1.
