Right. I’m sorry. I have 2.6.3. That was a typo error. Can you tell me if I need to upgrade to the 2.6.5. or am I okay staying with the version I have? Thanks

Thanks for the link, and I don’t know if it is necessary but just to clarify I did do some reading. In fact, I always search these forums and sometimes even Google before posting a question here.
What I was concerned about and therefore asking about, is whether a new version could be problematic for me since I am very new to WordPress, as I know that upgrades can sometimes have problems of their own. But I guess since I haven’t read about any reported problems, I will just go ahead and give it a try. Thanks.
You can upgrade by copying over just 5 files.
- /wp-admin/users.php
- /wp-includes/feed.php
- /wp-includes/post.php
- /wp-includes/version.php
- xmlrpc.php
It’s always best to upgrade to the most current version.

is there anything that can be more problematic than getting a site hacked?
new or not, i dont think so. The security fix is one file, if youre already using 2.6.3.

Okay, that is what I was wondering. Thanks for the reply, kwbridge!
