• Hello I’m new to WordPress and looking to create my own theme in DreamWeaver. I have my theme already loaded through a zip file to WordPress. My problem is every time I make a change to the content files etc. in DreamWeaver none of the changes are applied to my already loaded theme in WordPress. Can anyone help?

  • Are you editing the files on the server itself? Is your host caching your site or do you have a caching plugin installed?

Im editing the files in dreamweaver. I have it remote server connected but it still doesnt update the files

Does Dreamweaver give you any errors when you save the files? You may need to ask Dreamweaver support if you don’t know how to check for errors in Dreamweaver. Is your host caching your site or do you have a caching plugin installed?

There are no errors and no there are no caching plugins installed. I have my folder on my desktop with all the WordPress files wp-content wp-admin etc. all in that folder. I created a folder for my theme in the wp-content/themes folder. I saved it as a zip file and uploaded it to wordpress. It’s installed but not getting any of the updates I make in dreamweaver

To clarify, in Dreamweaver, are you editing the files contained in wp-content/themes/your-theme-folder? Also, I suggest asking your host if there are any issues on their end that might prevent Dreamweaver’s remote server capabilities from working correctly.

yes that is the folder I am working out of

Can you access the files in that folder using FTP, cPanel, or another file management application? Have you asked your host if there are any issues on their end that might prevent Dreamweaver’s remote server capabilities from working?
